Reverend Kevin Russell Sheppard, Sr.

Rev. Kevin Russell Sheppard, Sr. currently resides in Chapin, SC. He is a native of Newberry, SC where he was born and raised. Pastor Sheppard accepted his call into the ministry in September of 2004 and preached his initial sermon at James Hopewell Baptist Church in Newberry, SC in January of 2005. He was called by the Mt. Rowell Baptist Church of Union, SC to become their Pastor in July of 2006, and served Mt. Rowell faithfully until April of 2014. In April of 2014, Pastor Sheppard was elected as the new pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chapin, SC.

Pastor Sheppard was educated through the Newberry County School System, graduating from Newberry High School in 1992. After serving in the United States Air Force, he continued his education at Newberry College, pursuing a degree in International Government & Commerce. Pastor Sheppard has continued to enhance his education. In December of 2008, he received his Paralegal Studies degree from MidlandsTechnicalCollege, and in December 2010 he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina. He also holds a Continuing Pastoral Ministry Certificate from Morris College obtained in May of 2010. Currently, Pastor Sheppard is enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC where he is pursuing a Dual Degree, the Master of Divinity & the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling. He is also enrolled at North Greenville University working towards a Masterís Degree in Business Administration. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force and a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Pastor Sheppard is married to the former Janelle Gadson of Eutawville, SC and they have 2 wonderful sons, Kevin Russell Sheppard, Jr. and Jonathan Grant Sheppard. Pastor Sheppard is employed as an Intake Coordinator and Investigator in the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs at the University of South Carolina. Pastor Sheppard has served in numerous capacities within the local community, as well as several positions within the spiritual vineyard at the local, and Associational levels. God has continued to bless Pastor Sheppard with the ability to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to spread his word wherever he goes.
